30 Communities of Practice

CADCA’s National Coalition Institute announces a no cost, innovative Web-based distance learning project for coalition leaders who would like to strengthen their evaluation of coalition results. This project specifically will focus on community systems changes related to reducing substance abuse in your community. The project is an action research project, limited to 30 coalition teams.

The Institute is very pleased that
Dr. Vince Francisco, a premier researcher on community change, will present the online sessions.

Participants will:
  • Improve their coalition action plan
  • Use an online documentation system to track systems changes and community-level indicators
  • Improve their coalition effectiveness by having a concrete plan for systems change
  • Receive technical support and ongoing feedback
Requirements to apply:
  • Internet Access
  • Learning team of 3 people
  • Coalitions that have been established for at least two years
  • Commitment to participate fully from September 2007 to May 2008, attend monthly online sessions of approximately 1.5 hours per session and devote 3-5 hours per month for data entry in the online documentation system
